Petals in the Pines is a great place to tour with a garden club or group of friends. With hundreds of flower varieties, shrubs, trees and native plants, there’s plenty to see and learn about! Our plantings are framed by the natural beauty of granite ledge outcroppings, majestic trees, and rolling hillsides. Hummingbirds, butterflies, bumblebees, and song birds make for an ever-changing symphony of sound and motion.
Stroll along our trails and discover something beautiful around every turn! We also have a delightful shady space and shelter for setting up a plant talk and/or BYO lunch for your group. In the late summer and early fall our specialty is the Monarch Butterfly Tour. We are a registered Monarch Way Station with Monarch Watch. We've planted our very own Monarch Maternity Ward, a space dedicated to milkweed plants and wildflowers which attracts the female monarch for egg laying. Walk the mowed paths through this garden to find and observe eggs, caterpillars, chrysalis and butterflies.
Our property is "On the Map" with Homegrown National Park, certified as a wildlife habitat with the National Wildlife Federation, and in 2023 we were certified as a Pollinator-Friendly Garden with UNH/UMaine Cooperative Extension.
